Powder Coating

Once you have booked your appointment, dropped off your vehicle, and informed us about the service you wish to purchase, we begin the refurbishment process by removing your tyres with zero risk of damage. Each tyre is then marked and safely stored, while your alloys receive a unique identification number to maintain a repair record over time.

The alloys are first placed in a media blaster to strip away the old powder coating, exposing the bare metal. This step ensures a clean surface free from contamination, promoting excellent adhesion for the new powder coat. As you may know, powder coating provides an exceptionally durable finish.

Next, the alloys are heated in a specialised powder coating oven for 20-30 minutes at temperatures exceeding 180°C.

While the alloys are still hot, they are transported to our powder coating facility, where the powder of your choice is applied. In most cases, the entire surface of the alloy will be coated. The heat from the alloys initiates the curing process.

The alloys then return to the specialised oven for an additional 30-40 minutes at over 180°C, allowing the powder coat to melt and create a flawless finish.

Once complete, the alloys are removed from the oven to cool down.

All alloys undergo a comprehensive quality control check to confirm they meet our stringent standards.

Finally, your tyres are re-fitted onto the refurbished alloys and balanced using a Ragalioni wheel balancer, ensuring they’re ready for collection or delivery.
